What were the moments in your life when you learned the most? When you set clear goals and moved the needle toward reaching them?
For me, it’s when I’ve had the ability to plug into a group of trusted people who helped to crack my mind open to new things. When I’m able to ask questions and run things by people I trust. When I bring something I’m struggling with to a conversation, and those on the other side ask me questions or propose a new line of sight I wasn’t seeing.
You know these moments. Their power, and the longer tail of what you get from them. They surface when we tap into the collective wisdom of a trusted, experienced collective of people.
Groups who come together to learn and work through challenges – also known as masterminds – have taken on many forms over the years. These include:
The Junto: founded by Benjamin Franklin, this group of twelve brainstormed and created the first U.S. lending library.
The Society for the Collegiate Instruction of Women: a collective founded in 1879 by Elizabeth Cary Agassiz to provide women with an education equal to that of Harvard University.
Sunday Night Suppers: A group (including Robert Loevett, Averell Harriman, George Kennan and others) whose gatherings were largely responsible for navigating the U.S. through the Cold War.
Chemistry happens when great minds come together in a trusted, collaborative space. When their stories are shared, they speak openly about what they’re facing, and look to each other for perspective, guidance, and different ways of thinking.
In my work as a coach, some of the leaders I partner with tell me about the trusted groups they tap into – but the majority speak to the one(s) they wish they had. They’re missing the shared kinship of going deeper with people they work with, or they’re not comfortable discussing certain topics. They’re concerned they might be adding to someone else’s burden, putting themselves in a compromised position, or aren’t sure the people surrounding them are the ones to challenge their thinking in a way that’s most impactful for them.
I’ve seen this gap for a while. And I’m creating something to bridge it.
Announcing Outsight <> Insight: a leadership mastermind launching in January 2025.
I’m partnering with Stacy Harris – an exceptional leader, coach, and facilitator – to build this trusted, high-impact group. It’s a 9-month program giving leaders the tools and support they need to work on their business rather than in business; unlocking potential through monthly group sessions, 1:1 coaching, actionable resources, and an exceptional network.
Outsight <> Insight will give leaders:
A clearer vision of where they are, where they want to go, and create a path for getting there
Collective wisdom, support, and accountability from a dynamic group of peers guided by seasoned executive coaches
Enhanced strategic thinking and decision-making skills
Increased ability to inspire, motivate, and grow high-performing teams
Greater confidence in navigating complex business challenges
Audience: Senior and executive leaders (including founders).
Program Size: Up to 10 participants to ensure an intimate and impactful experience.
Program Duration: January 2025 - September 2025.
You’ll find more information and can apply for the program via the link below. Spaces are limited with applications being accepted through December 6th.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, are in need of new motivation, or aren’t able to realize what you (and your team) are capable of, a mastermind group can crack open new perspectives, boost your energy, increase your accountability, and take your leadership game to the next level.
I’d love to talk with you about Outsight <> Insight, or other ways you might be able to tap into the collective to amplify your leadership. It really does take a village to accomplish what’s possible – how might our community be that village for you?
Please reach out to me if you’re curious or want to talk about leadership, change, or team effectiveness.
